Life is interesting in the detours and roads you may take to get where you are at any moment in your life. It is easy to look back and say ‘I should have done this or that…’ in the hopes of rewriting your history. I have done this myself and I am sure many of you reading this have as well. But I now see it as the fabric of my life that I have woven and that it all contributes to where I am now and where I am going.
Over my career journey there have been some interesting stops. Some great, some good, and some strange and unsettling. However they have all contributed to an interesting experiential base that has provided me with a solid foundation with which to now move on to this endeavour. When I think about the things I have done; military training, accounting, bond trading, public market trading, private equity, carbon finance, and hedge funds, it occurs to me that they have all lead me to this point and I find it enthralling to say the least.
I have always been very good at seeking out and finding the ‘off menu’ investments that have over time proven to be incredibly lucrative. But it was done for other people. Now, I intend to continue doing the same thing but for myself and for a select and small group of investors willing to come on this journey. So over the next month or two I will be formulating my first operating investment program. Stay tuned.
